Intellect is an academic book and journal publishing company based in Bristol, UK. We are responsible for publishing a portfolio of scholarly books and journals in the arts and humanities.
Books and journals published by Intellect are in academic subject areas related to popular culture and creative media. Intellect’s publishing programme includes topics in popular media and culture such as: film studies, theatre and performance, television, art and design, education, language, gender study, and international culture. We publish approximately 35 books and 35 journals a year, and a free in-house magazine, IQ. Intellect books are distributed in UK and Europe by Gardners Books, in Australasia and New Zealand by UNIREPS, in Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam by Book Editions and in North America and the rest of the world by The University of Chicago Press.
