cafebabel.com is open to your contributions, but before taking up your pens please read the following information carefully. If you don't follow these rules, you run the risk that your article might not be published!
Cafebabel.com articles are not just about conveying information but taking a critical look at current affairs and analysing events for their readers. Articles can also be in the form of tribunes or interviews. Each article must be written in the mother-tongue of its author and will be translated into the other cafebabel.com languages by our translators.
Although cafebabel.com is a participatory media, your articles must reach a certain standard in order to be published. They must:
contain a solid argument which links all paragraphs and comes to a logical conclusion.
analyse subjects from a European perspective which shows the link between the subject and Europe, Europeans, their interests and their values.
be well-constructed and backed up with relevant examples.
be journalistic in style (not be like university essays or reports) and all facts must be backed up by their sources.
designed for a readership which is not always well informed. References and examples must be explicit, especially if referring to particular countries.
in touch with the relevant language editor. BEFORE writing, outlining clearly what your article is going to be about.
Respect the instructions of the editor and the deadlines. If you do not, there will be a gap in the editorial content.
